There is always so much to do up at Big White that we don't always get to everything. This time, Theresa and I took the kids ice skating while the "boys" were out skiing. I didn't think it was worth paying for skates for Derek. . .he just walked around with the bar in his boots until he got kicked off the ice because it was a safety hazard.
Carter got to try hockey skates for the first time. They take some adjusting. In his head, he is a much better skater than what you see. He kept trying to join hockey games with teenagers. This guy was 20ish and was so nice to Carter. He let Carter score on him and would shoot it right at Carter's stick so he was able to stop a lot of s
Sydney loved skating. She tried it once or twice last year here in Spokane but was VERY cautious. She started out with the bar but by the end was brave enough to let it go for a while.
There is something special about this place at night. I love that the skating rink is lined with gorgeous pine trees and the horses for the sleigh rides are just hanging out right next to where you skate.
Of course one of the highlights of the trip for the kids was the present opening. They loved their new jammies! (Derek is cheering for someone opening a present. He was so much fun this Christmas. . .great reactions!)

Olivia is so adorable! I love that huge smile and her kissable cheeks. I'm glad you all had a grand Christmas and can't get over how cute all of your kids are. Your new life jacket is rockin', too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
