Whose Kid is This?

I was cleaning out my inbox and saw this email Garth forwarded me from his friend Kreg back in December.  It still makes me laugh so I thought I’d post it for memory sake.

Garth-

I did not get a chance to talk to you on Sunday, but just wanted to let you know I enjoyed seeing your family at church.

Carter was in my Sunday school class. We were discussing the Christmas story and one of the other boys asked “Why did Mary and Joseph have to pay taxes?” and then I asked “Why do we pay taxes in America?” and then Carter said: “Because Barack Obama spends a trillion dollars; he is the worst president ever. The second worst is Jimmy Carter. I do not like having the same name as that president.”

Got a little look at the political views being discussed at the Hamilton home…..

Purple “Ponish”

007

This is what happens when you try to take a shower BEFORE painting Olivia’s toes as promised.  She took matters into her own hands (hiding in her bedroom).  The miracle of the day is that none of it ended up on the carpet!!!

Go Lakers!

Not the Los Angeles version, the Nine Mile Falls version.

They didn’t have a great season, finishing 3 and 10 but I think a good time was had by all.  01-11-2012 02;46;34PM

One of the highlights of the year was when Carter got to go to a camp put on by Gonzaga.  He was so excited to tell my about all the players that he watches on TV that were his coaches for the camp.  On the last day, they all signed posters for the kids.

For the month leading up to Derek’s birthday, we kept asking him what he wanted to do. . .go skiing? go skating? have a party? and he just kept saying “I want to open lots of presents and have chocolate cake.”  We figured if he was going to be that easy to please, why complicate it?  So. . . we opened presents and ate chocolate cake.

He’s excited to use his very own ski goggles from Grandpa John and Grandma Lori.

The kids all love this piano from Grandma Theresa.  014

“I’m not 3 anymore, I’m 4”                                                     That’s what he keeps telling people, even if they don’t ask :)

I also had a birthday in January and had a great time!  It started with a zumbathon that our little school put on.  These are my 2 favorite instructors in Spokane, Amina and Alicia. 010

The PTG officers Lonni, Lisa, Erin, Jessica and myself (sometimes I can’t believe how short I am:)

Then I got to go on an afternoon date with my hubby the day of my birthday (and got the best present ever!). Then the following weekend, my mom, sister and I had our traditional birthday shopping excursion.
