Capitol Reef

Capitol Reef is one of my favorite spots in southern Utah.  We don’t always make it there because it is another hour or two south of my grandparents’ place, and when you’ve already driven 15 hours, you don’t always feel like going further!  This year we decided to venture down there since Garth and a couple of my sisters-in-law had never been.  The red rock formations are breathtaking.  Of course the pictures never do it justice, but I took some anyway.

Grandpa packed all the kids (plus some moms) in the back of his truck and drove us through a canyon.  It was incredible!  It was such a good way to see lots of the park without making all the little kids walk miles and miles.  We managed about a mile hike then we were back in the truck for quicker sight-seeing.

The younger three loved having Garth put them up inside the holes in the rocks!  Carter, not so much.
